Leadership Development: Create a Comprehensive Model for Your Campus

Universities strive to provide quality leadership development to students. Sometimes successfully and sometimes not. This session will utilize a presenter-developed model that serves as a foundation for developing leadership programs. Explore the importance of developing a model, how to involve faculty, and ways to communicate program outcomes. Participants will leave with materials to create their own campus leadership program.

Leadership Development

Are you looking to develop a leadership development program on your campus? Does your leadership program need a more comprehensive emphasis? In this session, we will explore a presenter-developed model that comprehensively explores the basic assumptions, beliefs, and presentation of leadership development programs. The model recognizes those on- and off-campus elements that influence student leadership skill development. Participants will explore the model and discuss ways to develop an appropriate model for their own campus. In addition, participants will leave having begun the process of developing their own model with theoretical and practical examples from which to draw.

Inspiring Peak Performance through Leadership Development

Achieving Peak Performance by Improving professional Writing

In this session we will explore those techniques successful writers employ when writing reports, proposals, memos, and business letters. First, participants will take a short quiz that assesses their writing abilities. Then, we will discuss those particular difficulties participants encounter when approaching a writing task and will explore simple rules to keep written communication effective. Participants will also receive template materials for memos and proposals that they can refer to back on campus when faced with a new writing project. The focus will be on writing as a leadership skill – a necessary competency for any successful professional.
